Meta Platforms has secured a landmark partnership with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) to deliver up to 6 gigawatts of custom AI chips, valued over $100 billion. This collaboration includes a 10% equity stake in AMD for Meta and positions the company as a lead customer for AMD's sixth-generation CPUs. Despite the $1.6 trillion market valuation, Meta's stock has declined nearly 20% from its peak, yet the move is set to bolster its AI infrastructure as it plans to invest up to $135 billion in capital expenditures this year.

It had a second subsidiary that was technically Irish but claimed to be headquartered in the Cayman Islands. And this arrangement came to be known as the double Irish.”
