Cigna Group has decided to exit the Affordable Care Act marketplaces by year-end, becoming the second major insurer to do so in recent years as it serves fewer than 400,000 ACA customers out of 18 million overall. Despite this strategic withdrawal, Cigna reported a strong first-quarter profit of $1.65 billion, surpassing analysts' expectations and raising its 2026 profit outlook by 10 cents to at least $30.35 per share. However, the company faces challenges as its healthcare segment experienced a 21% drop in adjusted revenues, signaling complex market conditions ahead.
