“I think culture does play a role, but not with respect to the victim survivors. I think it's with respect to the perpetrators. I think that um when we normalize um the sexual objectification in a sex trafficking context or when we other people who are from different cultures perhaps are not like us or perhaps from another country as somehow less worthy of dignity. Um that's the cultural um space that can then um get us to a situation where we began our conversation.”
