Amid heightened threats to the safety of humanitarian workers and a rising tide of sexual violence being weaponized against vulnerable populations, the situation has prompted UNICEF and others to advocate for international intervention and safety measures. Global leaders are called upon to ensure that humanitarian efforts are protected and to uphold principles of governance in the face of escalating crises.
