Humanitarian actors (WFP) are scaling up, but their success hinges on rapid funding and safe access. Risk posture: HIGH and worsening over the next 3-6 months unless hostilities ease or large-scale mitigation is financed.”

“Humanitarian conditions in Somalia are deteriorating rapidly toward a large-scale emergency. With 6.5 million people and 1.8 million children under five at crisis or worse hunger levels, and funding gaps widening, the country is assessed to be in a HIGH-RISK posture for widespread acute food insecurity over the next 3–6 months. Although WFP’s expanded local procurement offers a constructive supply-side mitigation, it does not materially offset the scale of need without immediate external resources.”
